What Was Fixed?

As originally planned, the bell support beams had brackets added to reinforce where they contacted the wall.  The damaged mortar in the area of the beams was removed and replaced.

Higher up the mortar was repaired on the inside and outside of the north, south, and west walls.  New pressure treated lintels were installed in the walls to support the stonework above the louvres.   Metal flashing was installed where the steeple sits on the tower to ensure no water can get in at the top of the tower..

New aluminum architectural window louvres will be installed shortly that will minimize maintenance while still letting us hear the tower bell.

Does this mean we are done? The above fixes stabilize the tower walls and will prevent further water seepage.  Further work will be required in the near future to complete the non-emergency repairs.
