Thank you for continuing to this page and for thinking about contributing.
The emergency repairs to the Bell Tower will cost the parish about $105,000. The final invoices have not been received however we expect them to be within the accepted quotes. This amount is substantially higher than the $29,500 project the current parishioners originally undertook.
It is our hope that many people, perhaps you and your family, who have attended Holy Trinity in years past, will be inspired to make a contribution, small or large, to the Bell Tower fund. Holy Trinity has stood solidly (or so it seemed) since 1879. Many people have been nurtured inside its stone walls and have walked under the bell tower as they entered and left the church. Baptisms, Confirmations, and Weddings have marked new beginnings in so many families. Many Funerals have also been held at Holy Trinity, as we gave thanks for lives lived with the grace of God. Our bell has called people to worship for over a hundred years.
Perhaps you have never attended Holy Trinity Church and yet have an interest in things historical and a significant village landmark. Holy Trinity's Bell Tower was built in 1879 and is referred to in the City of Ottawa "North Gower Secondary Plan".
Of course, our current parishioners will be doing their best as parishioners have done in the past. Over $8,000 has been donated before any formal campaign has started.
We expect that it will take years to pay for these emergency repairs to the Bell Tower. Please give prayerful consideration to what you can contribute.
