NEWS FLASH:  The louvres are in and the bell is being rung again at the start of services.Bell Tower Repairs 

Holy Trinity's bell has been silent since March 2009. Beams supporting the bell and the tower were rotten and mortar in the walls had crumbled.

Happily the beams have been replaced or reinforced, seriously deteriorated mortar has been repaired, new louvres will be installed, and soon the Holy Trinity bell will once again be announcing the start of worship.

Here is the story of what happened, what has been done, and how much it has cost.

It all started with an engineering inspection in February 2009.  The engineers noticed that the stonework around the beam supporting...  As originally planned, the bell support beam was replaced and the brackets added to reinforce its contact with the wall.  The damaged mortar...
